LKG29. BR ex- LNER Gresley A3 Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 60107 'Royal Lancer'. Coupled to a Great Northern type coal rail tender and in BR lined green with early crest and shedplate 15E (Leicester, Great Central). This is from a Martin Finney kit built by Graham Jakes. Fitted with a multi-stage gearbox, Canon or similar motor, compensation on the loco and tender, extra pickups on the tender, Slaters wheels and very good cab detail. It has a screw coupling on the loco and a magnetic 'Magclic' coupling on the tender (which can be easily replaced with a screw coupling if required). Additionally fitted with DCC (no sound) using an ESU chip (address 6107). The model is lightly used. The prototype was into service as an A1 from Doncaster Works to Grantham in May 1923, number 1476. It became No. 107 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme and was rebuilt as an A3 in the same year. It became BR No. 60107 in 1948 and was allocated to Leicester (G.C) between June 1950 and September 1957 other than a month's loan at Copley Hill in Summer 1952. It was withdrawn from Grantham in September 1963, so its first allocation was also its last. £1795.
