LDS065. BR ex- LMS Stanier 'Coronation' 4-6-2 Pacific and Tender No. 46251 'City of Nottingham'. In BR lined maroon with late crest and shedplate 5A Crewe North. This is from a brass kit and fitted with a Maxon motor, ABC gearbox, Slaters wheels and good cab detail. Built and painted to a good amateur standard with some light blemishes on the paintwork, notably on the left hand side tender coping. The model has had medium use. The prototype as LMS No. 6251 was into service from Crewe Works to Crewe North in June 1944 as one of the later series built without streamlining. It had a large number of movements between sheds and was withdrawn as BR No. 46251 from Crewe North in September 1964. In May 1964 it had hauled an RCTS Railtour from Nottingham to Swindon throughout and was widely photographed on Swindon shed. PRICE REDUCTION TO £895.
