LTS07. LNER Gresley A4 Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 4498 'Sir Nigel Gresley'. In pre-war fully valanced condition, paired with a corridor tender and in LNER garter blue livery as used from 1938 to 1942. This is a brass model by FM Models of Korea for L. H. Loveless and is fitted with working inside motion, opening smokebox door and excellent cab detail. Additionally fitted with DCC and Sound by Cliff Williams using an ESU Loksound decoder (address 4498). The model also has a Cliff Williams 'Chuff & Puff' smoke unit, working headlights and a working firebox glow. It has been lightly used on a working layout with one or two light marks/blemishes on the paintwork particularly on the tender where there is some white residue as shown in the photos. The model is supplied in its original box with inner boxes and unused accessories. Note that shipping (UK or International) is by DHL only at cost price as the box is too long for Royal Mail. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works in October 1937 and was withdrawn from Aberdeen Ferryhill in February 1966 having spent its last 2 years on the Glasgow – Aberdeen 3 hour expresses. Subsequently and thankfully preserved as part of the National Collection. RESERVED.
