CPHW01. Pullman ‘K’ Type First Class Kitchen Car ‘Lucille’. As running post-war with grey roof and steel sides. This was produced in Korea by F.C. Models for Golden Age Models. These highly detailed brass models were factory built in brass and have been unavailable for some time. Fitted with working interior lighting, highly detailed interior and underframe, opening doors and glass windows. The model is from the first series of Pullman coaches produced by Golden Age and is supplied in its original box with instructions having been lightly used. The prototype was one of the 1928 batch built by Metropolitan-Cammell Carriage, Wagon & Finance Co. Ltd of Birmingham for the LNER 'Queen of Scots' East Coast service. In store for the duration of the war, it was refitted in 1946 and after a very brief period on the 'Devon Belle' in May 1948 re-entered the 'Queen of Scots' service which re-started later that year (the delay was due to a strike by the National Union of Vehicle Builders which delayed refitting work at Preston Park, Brighton). In 1963 'Lucille' was transferred to the Southern region for service on the 'Bournemouth Belle' which ran until 1967. After several periods in storage it was eventually preserved and restored as part of the VSOE Pullman set. £550.
