LDR10. War Department WD 2-8-0 Loco and Tender LNER No. 3134. In LNER plain black livery. This is probably scratchbuilt, in brass, and fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, solid cast wheels, extra pickups on the tender, and good cab detail with driver. This is a used model from a working layout and the motor/gearbox combination is slightly noisy. The prototype was into service from Vulcan Foundry in Lancashire in April 1944 as WD No. 8641, renumbered to WD No. 78641 in January 1945. It went to the LNER in February 1947 as No. 3134 becoming BR No. 90455 in November 1949 (it may have carried the BR number 63134 for a short while). By 1951 it was at Aberdeen Ferryhill where it remained through the 1950's and 1960 's until withdrawal in September 1962 then meeting its ultimate fate at Cowlairs Works. It must have been a good steamer for Ferryhill to have kept it so long. £1100.
