LDS054. LNER Gresley Class A4 Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 4495 'Golden Fleece'. Fully valanced, paired with a Corridor tender and in LNER lined garter blue livery as running circa 1937 to 1942. This is a brass model by F.M. Models of Korea for L. H. Loveless. With all the usual LHL refinements including working inside cylinder, compensated chassis, opening smokebox door and excellent cab detail. This is a DC model which is lightly used and is supplied in its original box with accessories. It has a Kadee coupling on the tender which is a replacement to the original to give a longer extension for easier coupling (the original coupling is supplied). Also one set of cylinder drain pipes has been re-soldered in place. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works to Doncaster Shed in August 1937, originally named 'Great Snipe' but only for the first month if its life. It was renumbered to No. 30 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme and subsequently to BR No. 60030. It was withdrawn from Kings Cross in December 1962 having spent its whole life there or at Grantham (apart from its first month at Doncaster which was probably for running-in purposes). The name 'Golden Fleece' related to its use on pre-war services to the West Riding of Yorkshire, along with sister loco No. 4496 'Golden Shuttle'. RESERVED.
