LDS037. BR ex- LNER Gresley Class V2 2-6-2 Loco and Tender No. 60847 'St. Peter's School, York, AD 627'. Paired with an LNER Group Standard tender. In lined BR green livery with early crest, heavily weathered, and with shedplate 50A York. This is a substantially weighted older used model in brass, probably scratchbuilt, and fitted with a large can motor, worm and wheel drive, solid cast wheels, and with basic cab detail. The motor is wired positive to negative (so 'forward' on the controller is 'reverse' and vice versa). The prototype was into service from Darlington Works to York in March 1939 as LNER No. 4818 becoming No. 847 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme, thence BR No. 60847. It spent its whole life at York shed other than a month's loan to Leeds Neville Hill in 1946 and was withdrawn from York in June 1965. £795.
