LNC03. LMS Fowler 'Patriot' 4-6-0 and Tender No. 5521 ‘Rhyl'. In LMS lined crimson lake livery with shedplate 2A Rugby. This is a Limited Edition brass model built by SMT Models in Korea for Lee Marsh Models (Order No. 18) and fitted with all Lee's usual refinements including compensated chassis, working inside motion and superb cab detail. Also fitted with DCC and sound using an ESU Loksound chip (address 5521). There is a DCC blanking plug supplied which fits below the rear of the cab and allows normal DC running. The model is lightly used and supplied in its original inner and outer boxes with plinth, instructions, DCC blanking plug, gloves and unused accessories. I also have the original outer shipping box. The prototype was into service from Derby Works in March 1933 as LMS No. 5933 being renumbered to No. 5521 in July 1934. It first went to Kentish Town, moving to Edge Hill in 1935, Bushbury in 1937, Crewe North in early 1939 then to Rugby in October 1939 and staying there until June 1943 then returning to Crewe North. It was rebuilt by Stanier into taper boilered form in October 1946, the second of eighteen to have such treatment. It went to Edge Hill in June 1947 becoming BR No. 45521 in 1948, and finally to Springs Branch (Wigan) in September 1961 from where it was withdrawn in September 1963. £2250.
