LKR18. BR ex- Southern Railway Bulleid Rebuilt 'West Country' Pacific Loco & Tender No. 34046 'Braunton'. In lined BR green livery with late crest and shedplate 71B Bournemouth. This is professionally built and painted from a DJB Engineering brass kit and fitted with a Canon motor, multi-stage gearbox, Slaters wheels, compensation on the leading two driving axles and the centre tender axle, extra pickups fitted to the tender, and with excellent cab detail and crew. The model is lightly used with some minor paint chips in the area of the cab rear and tender front. The prototype was into service from Brighton Works in November 1946 as SR No. 21C146. It was a Brighton loco when rebuilt in February 1959 having been there since 1951, but soon moved to Bournemouth (in March 1959) from where it was withdrawn in October 1965. It was one of the lucky ones being purchased by Dai Woodham and moved to Barry Docks, where it spent the next 23 years. It was rescued for preservation in 1988 first at Brighton but moving to the West Somerset Railway in 1996, entering service there after a massive restoration project in 2008. Now owned by the Royal Scot Locomotive & General Trust at Crewe. RESERVED.
