LJWN39. LNER Gresley Class V2 2-6-2 Loco and Tender No. 4780 'The Snapper' as a RESTORATION PROJECT. The full name is 'The Snapper (The East Yorkshire Regiment, The Duke of York's Own)’. In LNER lined apple green livery. This is an older used model kitbuilt in brass and fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels and excellent cab detail. It has a number of issues - (1) The fall plate between loco and tender needs adjusting. (2) A front coupling is needed. (3) it is a very reluctant runner with a very noisy motor/gearbox and so is being sold as a non-runner. The prototype was into service from Darlington Works to York shed in August 1937 and was withdrawn from Darlington shed in July 1964 after a life spent almost exclusively in the North East. £495 as a RESTORATION PROJECT.
