LPM01. LMS Stanier ‘Duchess’ Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 6232 ‘Duchess of Montrose’. In lined LMS crimson lake with gold lettering shaded red as running circa 1938 with single chimney and without smoke deflectors. The shedplate is 27A Glasgow Polmadie. This represents one of the original batch of five non-streamlined LMS Duchesses having the continuous running plate (Buccleuch, Atholl, Montrose, Sutherland, Abercorn). The model is by Sancheng for Finescale Brass and has all the the usual Sancheng detailing such as opening smokebox door and tender filler cap, compensated chassis and excellent cab detail. The model has been very lightly used. The prototype was into service from Crewe Works in July 1938 to Camden and was withdrawn from Glasgow Polmadie in December 1962 having been there since January/February 1940 (they loved it). It had a double chimney fitted in January 1943 and smoke deflectors in February 1945. It was also in works in December 1942 and January 1943 for damage repair caused by enemy action. £1995.
