LDS030. LNER Gresley Class ‘V1’ 2-6-2 Tank Loco No. 7615 as a RESTORATION PROJECT. In lined LNER black livery. This is from an Ace Products brass kit and fitted with a Mashima or similar motor, single stage gearbox, Slaters wheels and very good cab detail. The model is built to an amateur standard and has had medium use, showing the following issues. (1) It runs OK but there is some electrical shorting when running over points. (2) There is a little bit of separation between the front running plate and the front buffer beam. (3) The wheels need a good clean. The prototype was into service in June 1931 from Doncaster Works as No. 2915, a Class 'V1'. It was renumbered to No. 7615 in the 1946 LNER renumbering scheme and converted to a Class 'V3' in December 1953. By this time it had become BR No. 67615, and was withdrawn in December 1962 having spent its BR days in Scotland. £395 as a RESTORATION PROJECT.
