LDEH29. LNER Gresley Class P2 Streamlined 2-8-2 Loco and Tender No. 2004 'Mons Meg'. In LNER fully lined apple green livery. This is a factory built model by FM Models of Korea for L.H. Loveless and fitted with fully working inside motion, opening smokebox door and excellent cab detail. The model is supplied in its original box, having been lightly used as a 'display cabinet' model. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works in July 1936 specifically for the Edinburgh to Aberdeen services. The class of 6 locos were rebuilt by Edward Thompson in 1943/44 into class A2/2, 'Mons Meg' becoming LNER No. 504 and subsequently BR No. 60504. It was withdrawn from New England (Peterborough) in January 1961 . 'Mons Meg' is a famous siege gun built in Mons (Belgium) and given to King James II of Scotland in 1457. It still exists at Edinburgh Castle. RESERVED.
