LDS025. LNER ex- Great Eastern Holden Class D16 4-4-0 and Tender No. 8900 'Claud Hamilton'. Great Eastern Class S46. In lined LNER apple green. This is an older scratchbuilt model in brass and fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, solid cast wheels, extra pickups on the tender, and basic cab detail. Underframe detail is somewhat lacking. The model has had medium use. The prototype was into service from Stratford Works in March 1900 as GER No. 1900, renumbered by the LNER to No. 8900 in 1924. It was rebuilt as a class D16/3 in 1933 and was renumbered again by the LNER to No. 2700 in 1946, withdrawal coming in May 1947. It was named after Lord Claud Hamilton who lived from 1843 to 1925 and was the chairman of the Great Eastern Railway. PRICE REDUCTION TO £595.
