LKB05. Southern Railway ex-LSWR Urie/Maunsell 'King Arthur' 4-6-0 and Tender No. 744 'Maid of Astolat'. Paired with an 8-wheel bogie tender and in lined Southern Railway olive green livery. This is from the superb MOK brass kit and fitted with an ABC gearbox, Canon or similar motor, Slaters wheels, a little bit of compensation, and with excellent cab detail and crew. Additionally fitted with DCC and sound using an ESU Loksound chip (address 744). The model is lightly used. The prototype was into service from Eastleigh Works in September 1919 as LSWR No. 744 which it carried through Southern Railway days to become BR No. 30744. It was withdrawn from Basingstoke as early as January 1956 having been allocated to 7 different sheds in its short BR life, due in no small part to Bulleid Pacifics having taken over the prestige services.
