LQL19. LNER Gresley A4 Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 4485 'Kestrel'. Paired with a corridor tender and in LNER early post-war garter blue, unvalanced (the valances were removed during the war for easier maintenance). This is from a Martin Finney kit built by Mike Williams and painted by Dennis Morley in 2009 (signed). Fitted with multi-stage gearbox (I don't recognise the motor type but looks similar to a Canon), compensation on loco and tender, Slaters wheels, pickups on the tender, and excellent cab detail. The tender has a buckeye coupling which drops down to reveal a standard coupling hook. This is a used model with some minor blemishes on the paintwork, and it requires wide radius curves due to limited swing on the bogie and trailing pony truck. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works in February 1937 to Haymarket. It became No. 26 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme and was renamed to 'Miles Beevor' in November 1947. As BR No. 60026 it was withdrawn from Aberdeen Ferryhill in December 1965. RESERVED.
